Oxford Virtual Academy (OVA)
Fall 2021 classes will run Mondays at On Pointe’s Main Studio, 3772 S. Lapeer Rd. in Metamora. Classes are 14 weeks in length, running from 8/30/2021 to 12/13/2021. Classes are as follows:
Introduction to Dance electives for K-5th grade has one Monday class available. It will run 9 – 10 AM.
Middle and High School Dance classes for grades 6th – 12th will be Monday from 10 – 11 AM.

OVA Class Information & Requirements for Fall 2021
Elementary Dance: Kindergarten through 5th Grade
Monday 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
This course, designed to meet the needs and abilities of children in grades K-5, is 14 weeks in length. The curriculum covers ballet, tap combo with creative movement and tumbling. The class will also give students an orientation to choreography, and develop a student’s music counting ability.
Shoes & Attire for K-5 Intro to Dance
Please prepare students for class with the following:
- Pink leather full-sole ballet shoes (Note: This is a different shoe from the 6-12 split-sole ballet requirement.)
- Black patent leather tap shoes
- Hair pulled back and away from the neck
- Leotard & tights for girls, black sweatpants and white t-shirt for boys
Middle and High School Dance: 6th through 12th Grade
Monday 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
This Dance class is designed to advance through curriculum more quickly to fit the abilities of students in grades 6 – 12. This class is also 14 weeks in length. The curriculum covers ballet, jazz, lyrical, and tumbling. We will focus on learning choreography, creating student-developed choreography, and counting music.
Shoes & Attire for 6-12 Middle and High School Dance
Please prepare students for class with the following:
- Pink leather split-sole ballet shoes (Note: This is a different shoe from the K-5 full-sole ballet requirement.)
- Black patent leather tap shoes
- Hair pulled back and away from the neck
- Leotard & tights for girls, loose-fitting black pants or sweatpants and white t-shirt for boys
